Kina making sound underwater

The following information is intended to to show you how sound is made by Kina underwater. Kina create sound waves by scraping on the rocks.

The Kina uses it’s sharp teeth to scrape algae off rocks, for it to eat. The continuous sound of scraping gets amplified inside of the hard Kina shell. Starting to vibrate and turn into pressure/sound waves

Sound waves go through, go over, or go passed tiny animals such as plankton. So as to bigger animals the sound reflects back.

The further the sound waves go it loses energy, because it has more space. Sound waves only reach up to the water's surface, so when it touches the surface it is gone. Even though there are many other animals that create sound waves.

As a result there is sound underwater which is usually unnoticed, and the more you realize that there is sound, you can explore it more, however there is not only Kina making sounds underwater. There are many more to discover.
