I love my Chromebook
Reflection:
|
We were making a stop-motion movie showing why we love our Chromebooks. The Success Criteria was helping me to double check that I did most of the steps, to a successful stop-motion video. Since we weren’t arguing and complaining instead collaborating that made it so much easier to record and finish our work.

Kina making sound underwater
The following information is intended to to show you how sound is made by Kina underwater. Kina create sound waves by scraping on the rocks.
The Kina uses it’s sharp teeth to scrape algae off rocks, for it to eat. The continuous sound of scraping gets amplified inside of the hard Kina shell. Starting to vibrate and turn into pressure/sound waves
Sound waves go through, go over, or go passed tiny animals such as plankton. So as to bigger animals the sound reflects back.
The further the sound waves go it loses energy, because it has more space. Sound waves only reach up to the water's surface, so when it touches the surface it is gone. Even though there are many other animals that create sound waves.
As a result there is sound underwater which is usually unnoticed, and the more you realize that there is sound, you can explore it more, however there is not only Kina making sounds underwater. There are many more to discover.

My Key Competencies
Last term I used to be a little shy when it was time for me to share my ideas or ask questions in front of both class or others, but now I can share my ideas in small or class discussions. I can also listen to other people's ideas and always be acceptable, even if their answer is wrong.
Another thing that I like is to discover and learn new things. I know that I always need to use my manners. So that I can be a great role model to the year 1, 2, and 3. I know my responsibilities and the Hay Park Way, so I follow it!
I have made huge progress on my confidence and have learned many different ways of being a great role model. I hope I will discover more next term!
My Nga Manawa
Yestersdy Kenty a famous photographer came to our class and taught us so many things about mangroves and how they can survive in the salty water. This is some facts about mangroves/Nga manawas. We need to look after them because many animals live in it and it is a very useful plant.

My Ocean Currents Experiment
McCahon has been using Thinglink for our learning, it's awesome! And you can add so much of your work into only one interactive image.
We have also been learning about Ocean Currents. This is what we have found-
- Cold salty water is denser and heaver than warm or cold freshwater.
- That surface tension is the thing that holds small insects that can walk on water.
- We have also found a word which is Thermohaline it means currents caused by salt and temperature.

XtraMaths progress
In class we have been practicing our Basic Facts on XtraMaths.
Here is my XtraMaths grid-
Green means that I have nailed it, yellow means that I haven't answered it quick enough, and if I have a red X it means that I have got it wrong and I have to work on it, lastly that grey box means, that I had missed answering it.I think my next steps are to practice my facts like 5+9 and 7+8, so I can be quick and correct at answering it.
